The Prospect Library, Local History Collection is a reference collection and is to be used within the Library only. Information can be copied at the discretion of the Local History Officer provided there are no copyright restrictions.
The collection is made available to the community including the general public, researchers and Prospect Local History Group in the Local History Room of the Prospect Library where collection items and records can be physically accessed.
Commitment to an ongoing digitisation project will also ensure that objects and documents are increasingly accessible and searchable. The library provides scans of images to individuals as requested provided there is no copyright restriction on the material. A small fee may be incurred to cover the cost of providing the image.
The Prospect Family History Group meets on the third Tuesday of the month and members are available to help research family history.
The Local History Officer (part-time) is available for help with the collection. Library staff are also on hand to assist with basic search requests.
