Parramatta City Council Archives preserves and makes accessible records relating to the functions and activities of Parramatta City Council from the time of its incorporation in 1863. It includes records of Granville, Dundas, and Ermington and Rydalmere Municipal Councils which were amalgamated with Parramatta Council in 1948. These records illuminate the history and development of the Council and reflect the changes in the community and the rich history of the Parramatta area.

Local Studies and Family History Library Collections: The photographic and image collection of the Parramatta Local Studies Library can be searched on the website (http://heritagecentre.parracity.nsw.gov.au/home.page.do). The Library's other resources can be searched on the Parramatta City Library's web catalogue. Further materials for research are available at the Parramatta Heritage and Visitor Information Centre.

Archives: Council business records from inception in 1861 until the present. Collecting - there is also a Community Archive containing records of past organisations from the Parramatta area.
