History

The Records and Archives Centre was established in 1979 as the official repository of the records of the Anglican Church within the Diocese of Brisbane.
The Centre launched its new website in early 2021: https://www.anglicanchurchsq.org.au/archives. It includes indexes and also information to assist First Nation families and researchers of Children's Homes records.

Opening times

Arnott Reading Room Open Monday to Wednesday 9am–4pm by appointment only, and Friday 9am–2pm by appointment only.
Arnott Reading Room Closed Thursday for volunteers.
Closed weekends.

Access conditions and requirements

Access to the records for research purposes is by appointment only. By Government and Church regulation, certain registers are closed for varying periods and research within these closed registers may be carried out only by staff. For further information about access and fees, please contact the Archives using the online enquiry form.
