The Ringwood and District Historical Society exists to collect, preserve and promote material relating to the history of Ringwood, Victoria, and local districts.
Its purposes are three-fold:
- to collect local historical objects and information for the local community
- to promote local history by holding regular meetings and organising historical displays
- to undertake research for members, the general public, government organisations and corporations.
The society has a humidified and air conditioned archives, which is open to the public by appointment.
