Historia

PLC Melbourne is a Christian College, associated with the Presbyterian Church.

Established opposite the Fitzroy Gardens, East Melbourne in 1875, the college is one of the oldest schools for girls still in existence in Australia. The college fully relocated to the Melbourne suburb of Burwood in 1958.

The Archive was established in 1975 to retain and preserve the history of the college's pioneering and enduring contribution to the education of women and to raising the status of women within the Australian and international community. Eminent Old Collegians and former staff include Vida Goldstein, Henry Handel Richardson, Dame Nellie Melba, Violet Teague and Walter Withers.
