Presbyterian Church of Victoria Archives, Melbourne
Since 1823, Presbyterian Churches have taken an active part in Australian society.
The Presbyterian Church of Victoria, together with the Presbyterian Church in each of the other states, forms the Presbyterian Church of Australia, which came into being on 24 July 1901 as the mainline Presbyterian denomination in Australia in historic continuity with the Church of Scotland and the Free Church of Scotland.
A collection of historical material collected from churches, courts, and organisations of the church that are of an historical nature. The Archive holds a vast and rich array of material dating back from the early 1800s.
The Archive serves the Presbyterian Church of Victoria, its organisations and its members. Advice and assistance is always at hand especially for research for the preparation of church jubilees and other celebrations. The Archive is not open to the general public. Because there are minimal funds available for its care, upkeep and management, there is no ability to accept or respond to inquiries of a personal nature from the general public.
