Historique

https://www.perthcollege.wa.edu.au/our-school/history/archives
The Perth College Archives, as it was originally known, was established by volunteers in the 1980s using donations from long-serving staff and Old Girls. Our Heritage Officer, Jessica Marantelli, collects and preserves items of enduring value while also providing informative material for student or community research.

The collection spans the entire history of Perth College, from its beginnings in West Perth in 1902, and includes items related to the Community of the Sisters of the Church, Old Girls, Principals and Council members.

It encompasses academic reports and minutes, architectural drawings, museum items, uniforms, badges, trophies, newspaper clippings, oral histories and photographs. The school’s year book, Myola, was first published in 1913, compiled by the Sisters who recorded events of the preceding year. The complete collection has been scanned and is available for viewing by prior arrangement.

Our uniform collection highlights the changes to the school uniform over the years and includes blazers, academic dress and even a pair of bathers worn when the first swimming pool was opened in 1931.

The photograph collection – physical and digital – covers all facets of Perth College’s history. A selection of digitised photographs is also available on Flickr.
