Administrative structure

The Parliament of New South Wales is divided into three separate entities:

  • Legislative Council,
  • Legislative Assembly, and
  • Department of Parliamentary Services.

The Records and Archives unit is part of the Parliamentary Library within the Department of Parliamentary Services.

Closed public holidays and Christmas-New Year period.

Access conditions and requirements

At least one week's advance notice of visit required with details of subject to be researched. Closed period of 25 years applies to records. Access to records not normally available for research can be gained by obtaining authorisation from the relevant Presiding Officer of Parliament.
