Monash University Archives, Melbourne
Monash University was established by an Act of the Victorian Parliament in 1958 and took its first students at Clayton Campus in 1961. The University Archives was established in 1978 following passage of the Victorian Public Records Act. In the 1990s Monash merged with:
The University Archives are in-house and geared to documenting administrative processes and the teaching and research functions of the University. The Archives also accepts private papers from senior staff when appropriate.
Administrative records from offices of the Vice Chancellor, Deans, and academic Heads of Departments; and agenda and minutes of University boards and committees.
Records of Monash Association of Students; Managers of Alexander and George Jenkins theatres and Robert Blackwood Hall; and private papers of individual academics.
