Kedron State High School is situated on 33 acres of land which borders Kedron Brook. Originally within the area of the Enoggera tribe, the site was used for horse racing from the 1880s. When the school opened as part of the expanding Queensland state educational system in 1956 some of the race course buildings were still in place.
