History

The Australian and New Zealand Association of Radiology was founded in 1935 by a dedicated group of radiologists who wanted to ensure the specialty was formally recognised and its practitioners properly trained.

In 1949, the Association became the College of Radiologists (Australia and New Zealand). The College continued to grow and evolve and in 1998, the organisation took on its current name, the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.
