History of Medicine Library, Sydney
The Royal Australasian College of Physicians' History of Medicine Library, located at the head office in Sydney, has a leading collection of medical history items from Australasia and around the world.
The College established the Library in 1939 as a clinical library. The focus of the library changed to medical history in the mid 1950s. The Library continues to grow through the contributions of College members.
The College connects, trains and represents over 30,000 medical specialists and trainee specialists from 33 different specialties, across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. For further information, see https://www.racp.edu.au/about/the-racp

Access to closed records requires approval of the Chairman and Archives Committee.
General reference assistance available.
Record material, rare materials, or items dated before the 1900s, are not for loan but can be viewed and photocopied in-person at the Library.
RACP members can borrow books directly from the History of Medicine Library. Items can also be posted on request.
Members of the public are able to borrow books as inter-library loans. Enquire at your local library about the inter-library loans process.
