Charles Darwin University (CDU) is an Australian public university established in 2003 from the merger of:

• Northern Territory University (NTU), Darwin (1989-2003)
• Menzies School of Health Research (established in 1985)
• Centralian College of Alice Springs

It was named after Charles Darwin, the celebrated English naturalist.

Earlier the Darwin Community College (founded 1974), renamed Darwin Institute of Technology in 1984, had merged with the University College of the Northern Territory (founded in 1985) to become the Northern Territory University in 1989.
