Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School
Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School (BCGS) is a co-educational independent school associated with the Anglican Church in Australia and the Anglican Diocese of Bunbury. The School caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12, also encompassing boarding facilities and pre-school education and services including Early Childhood.
The School was officially opened on 8 February 1972 and the Archives was established from 1997 after the appointment of a dedicated School Archivist.
Gelorup is a semi rural location within minutes south of Bunbury, Western Australia's second largest city. The area includes rural and regional agriculture and primary industry.
Archives policy covers the collection of both school history and evidential archival holdings including student records, a photographic record, governance and administration, and published material.
Facilities - a purpose-built archival storage space and large work room, and a reading and research room currently used by an alternative school area.
School publications, the Bonifacian and the Grammarian, school history publications, student, staff, governance and administrative records, photographic and audio-visual, oral history, uniforms and textiles, maps and plans and art works.
The Archives also collects objects such as trophies, awards, pennants and objects, including spiritually significant objects.
