History

The Bishop Collection was established in May 2017 for the purpose of establishing and maintaining the private collection held by a related entity. The Bishop Collection collects, conserves/preserves, and presents (via online exhibitions) significant objects and records related to music, entertainment, sport, numismatics, and philatelic areas. It covers a time period from 1865 to 2019 and the geographic area is mainly Australia.

  • Music section: autographed vinyls, vinyl and CD covers, photos, CDs, postcards, posters, contracts, sheets music, simple autographs, Hall of Fame induction and tour programmes, and an assortment of various objects. (Quantity as at July 2019: 1244 items)
  • Numismatics section: pre-decimal and decimal single coins, banknotes, and medallions; various coin, banknote and stamp sets. (Quantity as at July 2019: 745 items)

Opening times

By request/appointment only. The archives/collection is available/accessible to the general public only digitally as an online exhibition. For research purposes, the Owner and the Collection Management Team together have the responsibility and discretion to allow or disallow access to the physical archived/collected material. No archival material will be available for loan.

Visit and access only for academics, professionals, and researchers and only by request and appointment. Parking by request.

Researchers are welcome. However, all archived materials and the entire collection are available only with written permission of the Owner and under supervision of the Collection Management Team. Confidentiality agreement needs to be signed as well.
