This institution was closed when the State Bank was acquired by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in 1990 and its holdings were transferred to the Public Record Office, Victoria, on permanent loan from the Commonwealth Bank. State Bank records that were not part of the State Bank Archives in 1990 remained in the custody of the Commonwealth Bank and inquiries concerning these records may be directed to the Commonwealth Bank Archives.
