Records management and collecting policies

The University Archives is responsible for the care and preservation of those records of the University which have been appraised as having permanent value. It also holds the archival records of amalgamated institutions such as:

  • Sydney College of Advanced Education
  • Sydney Teachers College
  • Sydney College of the Arts
  • the Conservatorium of Music
  • Cumberland College of Health Sciences.

By appointment Monday to Friday 9.30am-1pm and 2-4.30pm.

Access conditions and requirements

One day's advance notice of visit preferred.

Closed period of 30 years applies to some official records.

Anthropological records may be restricted or closed due to their sensitive nature and permission required from the relevant communities for access.

The Archives are located in the Fisher Library and are not administered by the library and therefore have different opening hours.
